A Pebble in my Palm (and two in my shoe) ~ eBook
Penny Hogge and Barbie Neuper are both teachers with roughly 30 years of experience in the Eastern Cape, a province of South Africa that regularly ranks lowest in national school results – (they hope there’s no connection).
The two old friends embarked on a leg of the Portuguese Camino de Santiago in 2018, hopeful that they could do it before decrepitude did them. They managed. While Barbie focused her camera lens on the details of the pilgrimage, Penny used her pen and kept the details in a journal. It resembled a pile of soggy (yet clean) toilet paper by the end of the journey and the ink stains in her shorts are still there. So are the words.
“A Pebble in My Palm” resulted.
